Great opportunity for a CSR looking to move up on the career
ladder! We have an opening at the Callahan Insurance Agency, 2450
Main Street, Brewster for an assistant manager. The position requires a
p/c license and a solid background in either commercial or personal
lines. The assistant manager will oversee daily agency operations
but will also be expected to perform customer service. Excellent

Learn fundamentals of insurance agency
operations, including front office and support functions. Includes
back office customer service and marketing (no cold calls). Heavy IT
cross training, including database reports, mailmerge, web browser interfaces

Entry level career opportunity. This position is very consumer oriented. You will be in constant contact with our insureds and other members of the community. Besides the computer proficiency and verbal and written communication skills required for the job, and great attention to detail, an outgoing and friendly personality is a must.
CSR Job Description: to become knowledgeable in personal lines coverages, such as homeowners, personal automobile, boats, umbrellas; service personal lines accounts, including policy changes and handling claims; become familiar with and follow company guidelines and underwriting criteria; correspond and interact with clients and insurance company underwriters; research coverage questions and explain to insureds; sell new and additional policies; solicit other types of insurance.
IT/Database training also available.
Experienced Insurance CSRs may also be considered.
Duties:
Assist Customer Service Representatives with background support
functions.
Service personal
lines accounts, including homeowners, personal automobile, boats,
umbrellas, policy changes and handling claims; be familiar with
and follow company guidelines and underwriting criteria; assist in
preparation of policy quotes and proposals; prepare applications
and policy change requests for submission to insurance companies,
including via company websites; correspond and interact with
clients and insurance company underwriters; research coverage
questions and explain to insureds.

This position requires computer proficiency, exceptional
organization, and meticulous attention to detail. Names and
addresses, vehicle identification numbers, amounts of insurance,
and multiple locations of insured properties must be accurate.
Standard procedures must be strictly followed and precisely
executed for proper servicing of accounts, prevention of errors
in coverage, and to avoid extra work correcting errors.
Data Entry/Processing Job Description: Enter and change
information in databases; receive policies and endorsements from
companies and check for accuracy; prepare invoices; assemble
policy forms and endorsements with policy declaration pages and
prepare for mailing; order and track policy endorsements;
prepare database mail merge form letters; monitor policy renewal
status; order policies and changes generated by customer service
personnel; prepare mailings.
In addition to communication and computer skills, this position
requires some insurance experience, either in personal or
commercial lines. You will be working with experienced
commercial lines personnel.

Access database, including use of queries, reports, and mailmerge;
data entry; monitoring of date sensitive events like upcoming
policy expirations, diaries, suspense dates; mailmerged mailings;
special reports; special projects, including marketing and account
rounding; review outgoing work and transaction documentation for
clerical errors, accuracy, spelling and grammar, clarity and
conciseness.
This position requires superior proofing, analysis, reasoning
and language skills, along with extraordinary ability to focus and
maintain concentration on a series of often complex tasks.
Job Description:
Review outgoing work and transaction documentation for clerical
errors, accuracy, and possible errors and omissions exposures.
Review outgoing correspondence for proper spelling and grammar,
clarity, conciseness and technical accuracy.
